Hi, I’m Tim.

I’m the photographer and owner behind the next chapter of Shoot the Moon.

Photography has been part of my creative life for decades, alongside a career in design, art direction and teaching college-level graphic design. All of those experiences have shaped the way I see through a camera—but what continues to interest me most isn't simply creating a beautiful photograph. It's the person standing in front of me.

I know being photographed doesn't come naturally to everyone. You don't need to know how to pose, where to put your hands or how to create the perfect expression. That's my job. I'll guide you, we'll talk, probably laugh a little, and I'll even show you what I'm seeing along the way. My goal is to get you comfortable enough that eventually you're thinking less about the camera and simply being yourself.

That's the philosophy I'm bringing to this new chapter of Shoot the Moon. We’re taking the experience beyond the traditional studio and creating portraits in places that mean something to you—with a simpler, more personal way to plan your session, experience it and enjoy the portraits afterward.

Shoot the Moon has a history and reputation I'm incredibly proud to carry forward—a legacy built by our photographers through years of creativity, artistry and genuine care for the people we've had the privilege to photograph. That history matters. As we begin this next chapter, we're preserving what has always mattered—quality, creativity and care—while creating a photography experience that feels more personal, flexible and reflective of the way people want to experience photography today.

Because ultimately, I don't want you to look at one of your portraits years from now and simply think, I looked good.

I want you to think, That was me.
